
The main driver of our curriculum is 'Preparation for Adulthood' (PfA).
Learning in this subject builds through key stage 3 and into key stage 4 to prepare students for both the next stage in their education, which is mostly in our post-16 provision, and also for adulthood beyond Isebrook.
The strands of the PfA curriculum are built around core pillars, each addressing a vital aspect of building appropriate independence as an adult in that strand. These pillars have been taken from the PSHE Association SEND Framework, the PfA Framework and the Autism Education Trust Framework.
The PfA curriculum revisits key pillars in each strand across the year and builds learning and understanding through routines, repetition and retrieval. Each pillar is then broken down into different content areas and students work towards the end of key stage outcomes which are clearly defined for each outcome pathway.
