Duke of Edinburgh Students Hit the Slopes at Snozone!
What an amazing morning our Duke of Edinburgh students had at Snozone!
The session began with students meeting their instructors and taking part in an important safety briefing before getting ready for their skiing experience. They then learned all about their ski boots, including how to put them on correctly, before it was finally time to hit the slopes!
Students started by practising sliding on the flat, helping them to develop their confidence, balance and control. Once they had mastered the basics, they progressed onto a slight gradient, taking on a new challenge and putting their developing skills to the test.
There were, of course, a few slips and falls along the way, but this didn't stop anyone from giving it their all! Every student showed determination, resilience and a fantastic willingness to have a go, supporting themselves and each other throughout the session.
The visit was a brilliant opportunity for our students to step outside their comfort zones, try something new and develop valuable skills that will support them on their Duke of Edinburgh journey.
We are incredibly proud of everyone's effort and enthusiasm. Well done to all our students – what a fantastic start to their Snozone adventure!
