Isebrook School Celebrates Gold SMSC Award!

We are incredibly proud to share that Isebrook School has once again been awarded the Gold SMSC Award!

This is a particularly special achievement as Isebrook was first awarded Gold three years ago, and has now successfully renewed the award following a further review of our work in Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural (SMSC) development.

The assessor highlighted:

“The school’s commitment to pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development and the care taken to make this a meaningful part of everyday school life.”

It was also particularly pleasing to hear that the school had responded so positively to the recommendations from the previous visit three years ago. The assessor recognised the continued development of our practice and identified a key strength of Isebrook:

“Isebrook’s strength lies in the way it connects individual support with high aspirations for pupils’ lives beyond school.”

The voices of our students and families were also a particularly strong feature of the visit. One student told the assessor:

“Our teachers are understanding and patient with us.”

A parent shared:

“School have adapted for my child and broken down the curriculum so he can achieve his full potential. That tells you how much they do and care for the pupils.”

We are incredibly proud to have achieved gold once again and to have demonstrated how SMSC continues to be an important and meaningful part of life at Isebrook.
