Isebrook School Earns Prestigious UNICEF UK Silver Award

UNICEF UK has recognised Isebrook School for its commitment to promoting children’s rights, awarding the school the prestigious Silver Award as part of the nationally recognised Rights Respecting Schools programme.

The award celebrates the school’s success in embedding the principles of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) into everyday school life, ensuring children’s rights are learned, taught, practised, respected and promoted throughout the school community.

UNICEF is the world’s leading organisation working for children and their rights, and the Rights Respecting Schools Award recognises schools that place children’s rights at the heart of their ethos, planning, policies and practice. The Silver Award is presented to schools that have made excellent progress towards fully embedding the principles of the UNCRC across the curriculum and wider school environment.

At Isebrook, the award reflects the school’s dedication to creating a positive, inclusive and respectful environment where students understand the importance of equality, fairness and respect for others. Staff and students have worked together to ensure every young person feels valued, listened to and supported.

Headteacher Tracy Latham said: “This achievement reflects the hard work and commitment of our students and staff. We are dedicated to ensuring every student feels safe, valued, respected and heard.”

The Silver Award marks a significant milestone for the school, which is now aiming to continue its journey towards achieving the Gold Award — the highest accolade granted by UNICEF UK through the Rights Respecting Schools programme.
