On 2nd March, our students proudly opened our new Pre‑Loved Uniform & Stationery Shop in our school bungalow as part of their Duke of Edinburgh Volunteering Award—and it has already become a project full of pride, purpose and community spirit. From sorting donations to welcoming families, students have taken the lead with enthusiasm, maturity and genuine care.
The shop provides good‑quality donated uniform and stationery, supporting sustainability and helping families feel prepared and included. Watching the students organise the space, greet visitors and work together has been a true celebration of their growing confidence and independence.
This initiative also reflects the heart of our Rights Respecting Schools ethos. Students are using their voices, making decisions, expressing ideas and supporting one another—demonstrating respect, compassion, inclusion & community in meaningful, everyday ways.
Running the shop gives them valuable real‑life experience too: teamwork, organisation, customer service and problem‑solving. It’s learning that strengthens their skills and nurtures their leadership.
The Pre‑Loved Shop is more than a project—it’s an example of our students’ compassion, responsibility and commitment to their community. We are incredibly proud of what they have created.
