SEND Independent Advice & Support Service
As part of the Children and Families Act 2014, it is a legal requirement that all local authorities ensure children and young people aged 0 to 25 with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), and their parents, have access to impartial Information, Advice and Support Service (IASS).
The two services operate at arm’s length from the local authorities and clinical commissioning groups. All staff are independently trained.
The services give practical, factual, and impartial information, advice, and support to enable children, young people, and their parents to participate fully in decisions about education, health and social care.
North Northants SEND IASS covers Wellingborough, Rushden, Kettering and Corby.
